Do you Take insurance?

I am not accepting insurance. All services are self-pay with a limited number of sliding-scale and pro-bono spaces.

*A superbill can be provided to you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

*Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) or Health Savings Accounts (HSA) may offer additional payment options.

What benefits come with private-pay services?

  1. You do not need to be given a mental health diagnosis to receive care which allows for care that is ethical, honest, and accurate.

  2. Your time in therapy is no longer dictated by your insurance company and you can continue therapy until you feel ready for discharge without the pressure of insurance.

  3. Your insurance company cannot use a mental health diagnosis to increase your premiums or deny you coverage in the future.

How Long are therapy sessions?

Individual and couples sessions are held for 45 minutes. The initial intake session is held for 90 minutes to account for the depth of information being collected.

What services are you unable to provide?

Child and Adolescent Counseling, Medication management, assessments for Autism/ADHD, and court-mandated treatment.

How is my privacy protected?

Per New Jersey Ethical Guidelines for counselors, your information is kept confidential with the exception of:

  1. Court Subpoena of records

  2. Client is considered an imminent harm to themselves or others

  3. Counselor is made aware of child and elder abuse or abuse of individuals with disabilities (Mandated Reporting)

  4. Client records are held for 7 years following terminations of services and thereafter destroyed

How often should I attend Counseling Sessions?

It is recommended that clients begin at either a weekly or bi-weekly frequency. The option to taper down to monthly or as-needed sessions can be discussed as circumstances change.
